Privacy policy

The short version
We do not ask you for anything. There are no accounts, no logins, no newsletter, no comment section, and no forms on this site. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information directly, because we never give you a place to enter it.
Two third parties — Google (advertising) and Vercel (hosting and analytics) — do receive data when you visit. The rest of this page explains exactly what and how to limit it.
What we collect ourselves
Nothing that identifies you. StillGood? is a static site: the pages are pre-built files with no database behind them and no server-side session tracking. We set no cookies of our own.
The search box runs entirely in your browser. The food index is downloaded to your device and matched locally as you type, which means your search queries are never sent to us or to anyone else. What you look up on this site stays on your device.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site displays ads served by Google. Here is what that involves, per Google's requirements for publishers:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to collect information about your visits, including your IP address, browser type, device information, and the pages you view here.
How to opt out
- Turn off personalized advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of personalized advertising from many vendors at once at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org.

- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Nothing on this site breaks if you do — the content and search work fine without cookies.
Analytics (Vercel)
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see which pages get read and whether the site loads quickly. These are privacy-focused, cookie-less products: they do not set cookies, do not use device fingerprinting, and do not track you across other websites. They report aggregate counts — page views, referrers, country, browser, and load timings — with no profile attached to you as an individual.
Our host, Vercel, also processes standard server request data (including your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, as any web host must.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, contact us and we will address it.
Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
We hold no personal data about you ourselves, so requests about advertising data are best directed to Google, which acts as the controller for that data. Where consent is required for advertising cookies in your region, Google's consent mechanism will request it before personalized ads are served.
Your rights (California)
California residents have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — a definition that can include the transfer of advertising identifiers to ad networks.
We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of the ad-related sharing described above, use the Google Ads Settings and industry opt-out links in the advertising section of this page, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor.

We link to federal sources such as the USDA, FDA, and CDC on nearly every page. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or which third parties are involved, we will update this page and move the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be noted here rather than made silently.
