Is it still good?

How long food actually lasts — fridge, freezer, and pantry. USDA-based, no fluff.

The 2-hour rule

Perishable food left at room temperature for more than 2 hours goes in the trash. Above 90°F, the limit is 1 hour.

The 3–4 day rule

Most cooked leftovers keep 3–4 days in a fridge at 40°F or below. Freeze anything you won't finish in time.

When in doubt

Do not taste food to check it. If it smells off, shows mold, or sat out too long — discard it.
