FAQ

Are eggs still good after the date on the carton?

Usually yes. Properly refrigerated eggs keep 3–5 weeks from the day you bring them home, which is often past the carton date. Crack each egg into a bowl first and discard any with an off smell or unusual color.

Does the float test tell me if an egg is safe?

No. Floating only means the egg is older and has a larger air cell. Judge by smell and appearance after cracking — discard any egg that smells off.
